Microphone icon grayed out

The microphone icon is greyed out on the Apple Watch in messages and not there at all on the messages app on the iPhone 6s. I have 2.2.1 on the Apple Watch Both are up to dat. Any ideas?

Hi


Try checking the following settings on your iPhone:


  • Settings > General > Keyboard - check that Enable Dictation is turned on.
  • Settings > General > Restrictions - check that the restriction for Siri & Dictation is not enabled
  • Settings > General > Siri - disable, pause for a few moments and then re-enable Siri.
