Family Sharing - can movies be shared using airline wifi?

Can movies that are rented from ITunes be shared on Family Share using the airline's wifi inflight?

iPad Air, iOS 9.3.2

Rentals cannot be shared. See About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support.
