Hey everyone, I did not upgrade notes when I first opened them, but I am trying to now. Does anyone know how? I can't figure it out. Anyway, whatever you have, I'll be thankful if it is an answer. Thanks!

Apple modified the storage and functionality of Notes, but if you use them on iCloud, it doesn't automatically change them to the new format in case your phone doesn't support the new format (and vice versa).

Notes is part of the OS, so whenever you update the OS, it would automatically update any default apps. My Notes app version is 4.2 running 10.11.5. Or are you referring to some third party app?
Hover over the iCloud account header and an upgrade button will appear.

Ahh, my ignorance shows here - I don't use iCloud, so am not up to date on that.
