Q: AirDrop is pretty useless for me

I don't know how many times i'll troubleshoot airdrop. 9 out of 10 times it does not work. I've pretty much given up on it. Each time there is an update from  , Airdrop is messed up. I often manage to get it to work again a few times but this time, no luck. Even for my friend who got the new MacBook and excited to try it out, could not get it to work. Are other people able to get it to work more often or even permanently? If so any tips would be appreciated.
