Q: cannot eject external hard disk with Aperture library on it

Hello,

since a few weeks i cannot eject a hard drive with the Aperture library on it. A dialogue appears saying that an Application is still in use, but Aperture is closed and there is nothing else on the external drive (Seagate 2 TB).

Yesterday i moved my library to a Lacie Rugged drive. Still same issue.

What could be the reason for it?

Aperture 3, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

DDid you change the Aperture preferences recently? Perhaps the Preview preferences or Share XML ?

i did not change the preferences. "Share XML with other applications" is currently set to Never.

But, now i could eject without force quitting! Maybe it has something to do with CCC, i am not sure. If problem returns, I will write again. Thanks!

Spotlight/finder indexing may still be running - so there may be a delay to when you can eject the drive - I have had that happen with a WD passport backup drive - where after doing a backup had to wait for 15 minutes until I could eject the drive.       I now have the drive in private area of Spotlight/finder so have not had a problem ejecting it.
