Q: Impossible to migrate two macs

I need help. My memory is full after trying to migrate two macs. I didn't have enough memory, but thought I could delete what was neccessary once it was done. Now I have two users on my new mac and I can't access my old computer from my main account. I can't merge the two iphoto libraries that I have now, and I have over 40 000 pictures. I also want my documents to be on my main account and not the duplicated account. I've never been so annoyed in my whole life - there's something about mac and apple that's making it not user friendly.
All I wanted was my old computer into my new computer, but now I have part of my old computer on my new computer, but on a different account.

I have opened access so I can use both iphoto libraries from one account, but I can't MERGE them?

And delete duplicates of photos?

Sounds like your disk storage is the problem, not your memory. Memory is RAM, it's has nothing to do with what you are doing.

Before proceeding with a course of action that could create problem for you should start with is a full backup of both users.

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

You have two accounts with 40K pictures and documents and you should be using the migration assistant

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT20435

You should also consider that amount of images should be hosted on something other than your internal HD and centralized as opposed to being split up into different users if the plan is to merge them.

It sounds like you answered "No, I'll do it later" when you turned your new Mac on for the first time and it asked you if you wanted to transfer information from another Mac, and you then proceeded to set up and configure a user account, and then use Migration Assistant to move your data after the fact. That strategy is almost always a mistake, because it results in exactly the sorts of problems you are having now.

The easiest thing to do now is to erase and reinstall OS X on your new computer, and after booting up into it, answer "Yes" when it asks you if you want to transfer information from another Mac.
