There's a setting within iTunes/Windows to update the library to the cloud so it sends recent changes, but how do you refresh the library on the Android app so it pulls down the updates that are waiting in the cloud? I've seen it execute refreshes from time to time, but it seems to do it randomly.

I've noticed most things sync over within a few minutes but things like play counts can take about 24 hours to sync across devices.
Also in Apple Music on Android, when you're at the top level view of Playlists you can drag and pull down to refresh.
I have tried the action of dragging down from the main playlist screen to (supposedly) refresh the playlists many times, but it's still not working.
Over the past few weeks I have updated many of the ratings within iTunes and synced the library to the cloud. However, the smart playlists that have songs with ratings of 4 or 5 (for instance) are not getting updated with the new songs/info. I confirmed that iTunes definitely shows those songs within the playlists within the desktop app. On mobile, I have those playlists downloaded to the phone, but I still can't see the new songs even when I'm connected via wifi.
Just found a workaround that may give some insight into what's happening...
I created a duplicate playlist within iTunes and gave it a new name. The new playlist on the phone now includes those recent additional songs (while the original playlist does not). Downloaded the new playlist to the phone and deleted the old playlist from My Music.
This is a bad longterm solution because this forces each song in the playlist to redownload. Not a great workflow when you're just expecting to just have a few new songs appear in the existing playlist.
Reviving this thread to point out what a significant problem this is. Apple iTunes/Windows should be syncing with Apple Music on Android without having to remove playlists and create identical ones. Any idea why playlist changes (songs added/deleted) on iTunes are not syncing with the same playlists on Music for Android?
Found a solution.
Make sure the 'heart' icon within the playlist has been selected.
Toggle the heart icon off within the playlist in question..
Toggle the heart icon on.
Refresh the playlists again.
The missing songs should now be there.
I have a similar issue. I had apple music on my iphone 6S, moved to an android device, downloaded apple music and signed in to my Apple ID however only 1 playlist out of 3 was there. Tried the above but didnt work. Any ideas?
