I noticed this PPAPI Plug-in is not installed. Around sometime in the Autumn of last year I heard Adobe Flash Player was a threat/malware issue on Google Chrome so I uninstalled it. I use both Safari and Google Chrome for browsing. Should I press the install button to put flash player back on to continue using Chrome and to make it safe to use? I'm worried in the meantime that my computer has been open to malicious malware since last year 😟

When updating Flash, ONLY repeat ONLY get an update directly from Adobe's website. Never use a third party site to update Flash because Flash may have malware attached to it.
When I click on the button ''Install now" directly from Flash Player in System preferences it opens up a window straightaway on Safari to download. I thought it would have opened in Chrome. But do I need to install it for Chrome even though the NPAPI plug-in is installed?

Sorry I can't answer that question as I don't use Chrome, however I was able to find this from Adobe:
Chrome has flash built in.
Ah ok so I don't need to install this PPAPI plug-in then?
Ah ok so I found out that if I type in Chrome browser the following chrome://plugins you just enable it and click the always button. Thank you all for helping me today.
