How to transfer an imovie project from MBP to iPhone

Is there a way to transfer an iMovie project which is already in MBP to the iPhone?

MBP (OsX 10.11.5) , iPhone 6S Plus (9.3.2)

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.3.2

I suspect not. Moving in the other direction works.

Only if it's an iMovie iOS project, (for instance,one that you archived earlier to free up space, or one that someone sent to you from their iOS device, etc..).

Projects created, opened, or modified by iMovie on OS X are not compatible with iMovie iOS.
