Q: Pop-up ads on eBay site only - malware works on others
BT gave me free malware McAfee for my iMac because I use their broadband. It's been fine but eventually things got complicated and I was told to stop the firewall in order to open certain things I needed to access, then my computer got slower and slower. Recently my computer shop told me McAfee kills macs and that I shouldn't really need an external firewall for it (El Capitan on desktop computer). So I uninstalled it after many many other issues. All was fine until today I find that when I go on Ebay and search for stuff - these pop ups keep coming up every 5 seconds or so, I've complained to ebay - they say it's their sponsors and can do nothing about it. Having check out the forums everyone talks about anti-popups - or Adblockers etc... I've done that and still on ONLY the eBay site I get this 'Offer4U' site popping up constantly. Driving me insane. I've contacted them and they suggest they access my computer remotely to help me uninstall 'this free tool'. ummmmm I don't think so mate! So please please help me sort this out, is it really that hard to do?
i-Mac, Mac OS X (10.5.4)
