Q: How to authorize songs purchased with diff apple id

I purchased songs as early as 1997 with a different apple id, pw and email address--it appears that the apple id that comes up is no longer valid, and though I have tried multiple other email addresses, none work (nor do I have access to them.

All purchases are forever linked to the Apple ID that was originally used to buy them. There is no way to switch or merge them to a different ID. Sorry.

You may be a little off in your recollection, since the iTunes Store did not start selling songs until 2003!  But anyway, if you have songs from an old account, you can authorize your computer to play them.  If you have lost track of the Apple ID or the password, go to this address and follow the prompts:

I mis-spoke on the date:  ye0330 purchased on 6/27/07!!  Thanks for pointing that out.   I know the id (ye0330), but I get the message that this is not a valid id--maybe it's not now, but at one time it must have been.  The problem is that the only way I can recover anything seems to be with the email address--and I don't know what email address I used (I tried multiples, but it has been a while since I used anything but my current one), and none of them were recognized.  Is there anyway to get past this without knowing the email address?

    Thaniks!

Well that sounds like those purchases are gone forever, even though my name is the same and I live in the same area...I'm sure I'm not the only one who has changed Apple ID's for one reason or another....

    Thanks!

Thanks, ed2345!  I did what you suggested, had an online chat followed by a phone chat and all of the songs I  purchased on that (very old...back to aol times) id are now authorized on my laptop in my current itunes!  Received good, courteous service by the techs and I  am a happy camper!
