Q: reset iPhone5S due to corrupted software
My phone randomly crashes and restarts itself. The Genius Bar employee was able to tell that the system software is corrupted and therefore needs to be reset. She suggested I reset the iPhone and set up as a "new" phone. This would remove the corrupted software. My concerns are:
- how can I get the photos from the Photos app on my Mac back to my iPhone? I have set up iCloud Photo sharing--will they automatically copy back to my iPhone after it's reset?
- will my Notes and Contacts all copy back to the iPhone from iCloud library too?
- what happens to the data in my iPhone apps? Fiitness records, game scores, etc....is that retained within the apps in iTunes and will copy back to my iPhone without losing data?
Thanks for any assistance!
iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2

I can tell you that the iCloud Photo sharing will sync back as will contacts and notes (this is the part of notes synced to iCloud) - note - you may lose notes that are "On the device" - so transferring the over is a good idea
However - here is the kicker
If the content is corrupted - restoring that may restore the issue
Import the photos to a computer if not synced to iCloud -
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer - Apple Support
As for apps containing scores etc - it depends on how the app developer has designed it
I do not believe there is one blanket rule that covers all apps
