    Hi Stranger52,

Congratulations on your first post to the Apple Support Communities! You're in the right place for answers.

I understand you'd like to create more space on your iPhone to restore from an iTunes backup.

How large is the backup file you'd like to restore, and what is the capacity of your iPhone 6? Keep in mind that restoring from an iTunes backup will erase any information currently saved on the device and replace it with the information in the backup. For this reason, you won't need to delete anything before restoring.

Not sure how to restore from an iTunes backup? Not a problem. I'd like to highlight this area of the Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup article for you:

    iTunes

    1. Connect your device to the computer that you stored your backup on.
    2. Open iTunes. If iTunes tells you there's an iOS update, get the latest version.
    3. Go to File > Devices > Restore from Backup. If you're using Windows and don’t see a File menu, press the Alt key.
    4. Look at the date and size of each backup and pick the most relevant.
    5. Click restore and wait for the process to finish. Your device will restart and then sync with your computer. Stay connected until the sync finishes.

Get help with this process, or read about encrypted backups.

If you're attempting to place a large backup onto a device that doesn't have enough capacity (for example, restoring a backup measured at 50GB to a device with only 16GB capacity), the process will not complete successfully. You'll need to use a device with enough capacity to successfully restore the backup.

    Cheers!
