Q: sbcglobal.net email won't send

all of a sudden my email will not send from my sbcglobal.net account on my iphone. incoming mail has not had any interruption, but when i try to send one it tells me the "username or password is incorrect". i have reentered the password, taken the account off and the added it back...nothing is working. my icloud email is working fine on the phone, so is my gmail. the sbcglobal.net email on my computer is sending just fine. is this an issue with my iphone or with at&t and how can i try to fix it?  i have an iphone 6plus with the most current updates to the iOS and everything

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.2

You must enter the username and password twice, once for incoming mail, and again for the outgoing mail server (SMTP server).

I have sbcglobal.net. Delete the account as per below and then set it up like the article but select Yahoo since they are the actual provider. It should set up automatically.

First close your Mail App completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Mail preview pane up until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > locate your email provider and click on the account and swipe to Delete. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Then set it up as Yahoo: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

That is valuable information. I wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks!

You are welcome. This should work with att.net accounts also.

And a bunch of others; btinternet.uk, for example. Yahoo is the email provider for too many ISPs.
