I am running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5

I have iTunes 12.4.1.6 installed on my Mac.

It incessantly starts itself, even after closing and after I Force Quit.

Open at Login is not checked.

I removed from the Login Items list under Users & Groups.

Possible causes of this issue include:

  • Pressing the F7, F8, or F9 key on an Apple keyboard
  • Clicking a link to the iTunes Store in a web browser, or making such a link your home page
  • Dashboard alarm-clock widgets
  • Alarm-clock apps such as "Awaken"
  • Screen savers that play music or display album art
  • "Amazon Music"
  • "Logitech Media Server"
  • "FitBit"
  • A custom message alert sound in Mail, or maybe the equivalent in another app
  • An Apple Remote (not applicable to recent Macs)
  • Using an AppleTV when an infrared receiver is enabled (not applicable to recent Macs)
  • External speakers or headphones with a next-track control
  • Connecting an iPhone, iPad, or iPod via USB
  • An Automator service with a keyboard shortcut that you created and then forgot about
  • An Automator calendar event
  • Third-party launcher applications such as "LaunchBar."
