Q: How to import only 1 album from icloud onto ipad- instead of all my photos from the past 10 years

I recently got back from a trip - I took about 600 photos on my iphone that I have put into an album and want to show it to my family. They are uploaded to icloud (I have a 200 GB plan with about 20,000 photos/videos total) and sorted into an album I created.

I would like to get that album on my ipad (which currently has no pictures on it) to show everyone. How do I only import that 1 album from icloud onto my ipad? It seems like I have to either have everything from 2006 - present or nothing at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you enable iCloud photo library then yes every photo will be added to your iPad.

As an alternative just enable iCloud photo sharing on the iPad, also enable it on the phone (no need to disable iCloud photo library on the phone if you don't want), create a shared album using the photos from your recent holiday, you should then be able to view them on the iPad

Hi. You can create a shared album adding the photos you would like to it. Then add people who can see those photos. More detailed information and instruction you can find here iCloud Photo Sharing - Apple Support

Thank you, is there any way to turn my current album into a shared album or should I just re-create it? One last question, when I create a "shared", it will still be private if I only share it with myself right? I wouldn't like pictures of myself being open/available to everyone on the internet. I only want them on my personal devices. Thanks again!

Do I have to have my photos in the photo app to create a shared album? I was doing all of this on a computer without the app, logging into my icloud account online, and creating albums that way. I can't seem to find how to create a shared album online (easily found it on my phone and ipad). Thanks for the help!

Open the album and select all the photos in it, tap the share button and follow instructions.

when I create a "shared", it will still be private if I only share it with myself right?

If you don't share it with others or check the option to create a public website, it will be private.

    Yes

I can't seem to find how to create a shared album online (easily found it on my phone and ipad)

That's correct, you will need to do this on your phone.
