Q: Apple Software Update Can't connect or Find server "How to Fix"

I tried searching for 2 days how to fix this. Tried downloading a fresh copy of ITunes and installed, didn't work. Tried Repairing Apple Software update in Programs, didn't work. Tried going to Microsoft and ran fixit to reset Hosts files, didn't work.

For everyone before you go thru all that and more and waste time Try doing this which I found in another post and should have been put out by Apple support on how to fix and then if not listed other things to try after that.

This is what I found:

After update 2.2, error: "The Apple Software Update server could not be found."

I had the same problem with Apple Software Update 2.2. I got the error message: "The Apple Software Update server could not be found. Check your Internet settings and try again.".

I went to the Control panel -> Network and Internet -> Internet Options.

In the "Advanced" tab I scrolled down to "Security" and unchecked "Do not save encrypted pages to disk".

Now Apple Software Update 2.2 is working without problems.
