Q: REALLLY SLOOOOOW Printing from a MacBook to Canon
Can anyone suggest a way to improve the printing speed of my Canon MG5500 please. When I first had it, print speeds were fine, but they have been progressively slower and slower to the current situation where each B&W text page can take about 5 minutes to print. Sometimes, it is OK, but too often it's not, and this occurs whether printing from Word or a PDF (which tends to be worse) or an image.
I am running a 2015 MacBook Pro using OSX 10.11.5 (El Capitan), printing via a wireless network (the wireless is not this slow!).
I realise that this is a golden opportunity to "pass the buck" between Apple and Canon, but all I'd appreciate is how to put this back as it was originally! For example, is there some sort of "printer cache" that needs emptying - it's that sort of problem!
A big thanks to anyone who can nail this problem! (I see this has occurred previously for others, but there's nothing recent.)
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Synching with an iTouch version 8.1.3
