Q: Company iPhone 5c Activation Lock by Former Employee

As a comment on all this trouble, I personally think there needs to be a way to disable the feature via a company MDM and only have it for the individual accounts, since this has happened more than 5 times already.  I had the luck of being able to contact the previous users of the other phones, but this time the previous user name doesn't match the iCloud account that shows asking for the password.

Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

You'll want to have whoever manages your mobile devices, your IT Admin preferably, to contact Apple Support. They will need to be connected to Enterprise Support to remove the Activation Lock put there by the previous employee. They will ask for some proof of documentation for the purchase of the iPhone and have it processed within days to enable the iPhone for use again. I've seen it done in under 24 hours. I've also seen it take a few days. It all depends on how many requests and proofs the validation team presently has to go through, so it will vary.

Have you considered going directly to an Apple store with the device and proof of ownership?

Generally you can take the device and the proof of purchase to a physical Apple Store after making a Genius Bar appointment and they can take care of it there.
