Can't Login to FaceTime for Mac After Repair By Apple

Had a new Logic Board put in the Macbook Pro recently. Had a few issues when signing in to iCloud on the Mac after changing my password on the iPhone while it was in the shop. Most Sign in issues on apple software were resolved after a restart. Seems FaceTime and GamesCentre are still having some issues though:

FaceTime login error message:

"An error occurred during activation"

Tried to reset the NVRAM which was in another post to no avail. I am running the latest OS X El Capitan 10.11.05 . My apple ID is correct and Password.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Please launch the Console application in any one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

View ▹ Show Log List

from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the log extract, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please don't select Private from the Paste Exposure menu on the page, because then no one but you will be able to see it.

Many thanks, here's some select lines from the console, most of which were repeated several times:

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?

After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Thanks for your help so far!

I disabled FileVault, enabled guest account. Logged in and tried signing in again to FaceTime, again same error as before "An error occurred during activation"

Weird thing is, when I logged back in to my normal account, FileVault was Decrypting as if it was turned on again? Not sure if it's an automatic feature.

I have noticed, before all this started, I kept having iCloud pop up a message on my iPhone, (I forgot about this) which prompted me, asking for my password. So I decided to changed it, to see if this would help. Now when I log in on Mac it always has a message pop up saying "there is a problem with the user **Email** and to update password" (I think it's the same message that was on the iPhone if I remember rightly.) This happened before I put the Mac into the shop.

I'm having the same issue with a family member's computer. It feels like a server side auth issue in icloud. From what I've read, when a motherboard is replaced, apple flashes it with the serial number of the old. So, if their server side token is matched by device serial and is generated using hardware IDs, then the server is probably denying the handshake on purpose thinking it's a spoofed device.

Are you also seeing errors in your console log related to identityservicesd?
