For the first time ever I'm having problems with my Mac. It seems that no matter which application I use to try and burn a DVD (I'm trying to archive some files), I'm getting an error message saying that there's a Buffer UnderRun problem and then the application quits. I normally use Toast Titanium 7 but when that wouldn't work I tried using the Mac default ones but get the same error message. I've looked through the help files and tried whatever was suggested like restarting, etc., but nothing has worked. I also have tons of room on the drive so that can't be a problem. Any suggestions? Thanks as always.
First, sometimes the preferences for certain software get corrupted. I would trash the preferences for Toast or whatever software you use for burning. A new preference file will be created.
Second, try to reinstall that program.
Third, you can create another account (system preferences, accounts) I really don't know why but sometimes something wrong occurrs within some account and a new one can show you if this is the case.
Thanks for your replies. I tried them both but without success. The really strange thing is that I get the Buffer error almost immediately--not later on in the burning process when you would think it should occur. I also thought that the Buffer UnderRun problem had been solved a long time ago. Also, remember that this happens with every application that I've used lately, not just Toast. Thanks again.
Try using different media. Wave a dead chicken over it, you know do all the normal things 😉
I think it's the OS, the media I've used Sony (DVD-R) has worked on and off through the upgrades (10.4.x)
Or ... it's crappy media. (I just bought a spindle of it - yay!)
