Q: My ipod shuffle 4g suddenly turns off automatically??!!

Hi. I have an ipod shuffle 4g mid 2015. When I hold the "voiceover" button in order to change my playlist and press "play/pause" button, my ipod automatically turns off (Sometimes it happens, not always), but after a few seconds when I turn it on, it works. I don't understand why this happens. Can you please help me on this and tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

    Hello siesam,

I understand that your iPod shuffle is occasionally shutting off unexpectedly when using VoiceOver. In such a situation, the first place to start would be resetting your iPod shuffle by moving the switch on the device to the OFF position (with the green stripe hidden), waiting ten seconds, then sliding the power switch back to the ON position.

Should this fail to stabilize your iPod, please see the iPod shuffle troubleshooting and service FAQ.

    1. Disconnect iPod shuffle from the computer (if connected).
    2. Move the switch on the iPod shuffle to the OFF position. Note that when iPod shuffle is off, the green stripe by the switch is not visible.

    3. Wait five seconds. For iPod shuffle (3rd and 4th generation), wait ten seconds.
    4. Move the switch to the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position. For iPod shuffle (2nd and 4th generation), slide the power switch on (and you can see the green stripe).

iPod shuffle is now reset. If you were resetting as part of some troubleshooting steps, continue with those steps now. For general troubleshooting steps see the iPod shuffle troubleshooting and service FAQ.

    Hello Steven_a1

Thank you so much for your help. I reset my iPod but unfortunately there is the same malfunction! I'm really confused and can't find a solution for it. Is there another way to fix it?

    Regards

    siesam,

If resetting your iPod shuffle hasn't prevented it from shutting off, the next step would be testing the device with a different pair of headphones or headset. This will ensure that the issue isn't with that accessory.

If the device continues to shut itself off, the next step forward from there would be to seek service for the device at the following link.
