Q: Netflix app crashes when signing into my account

Hi everyone!

 

So I've been using my Netflix app on an iPhone 5 and it works perfectly (although the app crashed sometimes, it worked after a few attemps). The problem started yesterday when my mom wanted to sign in on her device. The email and password where correct but when the app was "signing in", it suddenly crashed (every time we tried). The problem was finally solved when I logged out from my own iPhone but now I'm the one with the problem even when my mom signed out after using it.

I have the basic plan on Netflix but I understand the restrictions are for how many streams you can have at the same time, not how many devices are logged into your account.

I would really appreciate the help because it's driving me crazy and it seems (after hours searching), I'm the only one with a problem like this.

    Hello there PamSal66,

     

    It sounds like the Netflix app is crashing while signing in.  I know you want to be able to enjoy movies and TV shows on your iPhone and I'm happy to offer some suggestions.  I'm glad you're using the Apple Support Communities for assistance.

     

    This article discusses some general steps to take when an app is crashing.

     

    If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

     

    Quite often, uninstalling and reinstalling can resolve these issues.  You mentioned that it could be something on the Netflix side that's preventing being signed into more than one device.  You may need to sign out of all devices on the Netflix site and then re-add them one at a time, and test that they function individually.

    Thanks a lot for taking the time to help me out but now it all works perfectly.

     

    It seems that the problem was the internet. It wasn't good enough to support different netflix accounts and when I got home and my internet connection changed, it allowed me to connect on both devices without a problem.
