How to upload music without itunes?

Hi,

I'm a Linux guy, and thanks Apple, there is now no way to use any Linux friendly application to manage the iPhone music library.

I've just got a 5S and wonder how I can upload my music (around 10 GB of AAC files) to the iPhone. My iPhone runs 9.3.2 and is not jailbroken...yet.

My first idea was to find a way to upload my files to the phone file system, and then, find a music player which can take a folders structure as input instead of the iPod database. I've tried VLC, but I can only upload one file at a time, this is just not possible for a whole library.

I'm open to any suggestion, thanks.

Honestly, I don't like both. But I trust more Apple than Google. I come from a Nokia N9 and a Jolla, and I find this user experience much better than iOS and Android...except the lack of some support, applications, roadmap, etc.

I've had a first iPhone in 2007, and I thought the iOS UX in 2016 would be better. But it's not really different than the old one in fact.
