Q: Any way to contact the previous owner?

Jun 8, 2016 11:23 AMby léonie,Can you not contact the person you purchased the iPhone from? Return the iPhone to the person you purchased it from and ask for the money back.The iPhone is completely useless to you, unless the person who enabled Find My Phone disables it again.
There is no way at all to use it without the cooperation of the previous owner.

So I need to know if apple would give me the owners Email if I take the phone in. or maybe even you guys can email him and let him know of the situation because as you said the phone is 100% useless to me!

Your contract is with the person who sold the phone, not with the previous owner. It is fraud to sell you a device that cannot be unlocked.If he does not take the phone back, file a formal complaint against him. Or dispose of the device.

1. Go to Apple and ask for assitance
2. Go to court and try to get my money back

That is what I meant you should do. It is fraudulent to sell you a locked iPhone.

Activation lock is a security feature to prevent you from using an iPhone without the previous owner's cooperation. Apple will do nothing about it.
