How to Clean Sticky Spill on Apple TV Remote?

Remotes tend to rest on places where they are subject to spills. I have spilled both sweet espresso and a Coke on my Apple TV remote, both of which made the remote inoperable.

The most effective way I've fond to clean it that doesn't dissolve any platic inners is to:

1) fill a small glass with plain isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to a level above the battery slot,

2) remove the battery,

3) drop the remote in vertically button end down or horizontally so the remote is fully covered,

4) soak for 10-12 hours,

5) remove and exercise the buttons vigorously,

6) dry it with absorbent cloth or napkin, then let it air dry an additional 4 hours.

That should bring it back to life perfectly.
