Let's see. At 59.94 fps, your clip would be approximately 180 frames in duration. You could create a single 3 frame title clip and paste 59 copies for a total of 60 titles. And so forth. At lower rates there are diminishing options since we can't have fractional frames. So @ 23.98, you could have 72 single frame clips, which is the only number that meets the >50 titles threshold.

By "fill the screen" do you mean the viewer or do you mean the timeline interface?

You can build your 50-title sequence in Motion, if you have it, using Replicators, or in FCPX as a separate project. Build it, share it out using PreRes4444. Bring it back in as new movie with alpha and adjust the speed till you get it to fit the way you want to into the available time.

Creating 50 separate title items requires 50 layers. Or it just requires some careful planning and competent design to put multiple text items in one text generator..

3sec = 90frames ./. 50 = about ~2 frames per title..,, nobody can read that!

So, is it for 'effect'?

You could create each title in some other app, export each as jpg and use tools as Mpeg Streamclip to make 50 'charts' into one picture sequence, finally export as mov...
