Hi there Anastasia.Vanderbilt!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having issues installing El Capitan through Internet Recovery. I know how much you want to get your Mac up and running again. Without knowing the error message I can still offer these articles to assist you.

Upgrade to OS X El Capitan

OS X: About OS X Recovery

If Internet Recovery doesn't work via Wi-Fi, try connecting your Mac to the internet via ethernet. You can also try Internet Recovery at a friend's house, an internet cafe, or at your local Apple Store.

Best wishes with the installation.
