Best way to transfer books from older Mac to newer Mac

I'd like to transfer books from my iMac running Mac OS 10.8.5 to my MBA running Mac OS 10.10.x. Since iBooks for Mac doesn't run on 10.8 and I DON'T use iCloud, what is the easiest way to do the transfer? Connect via WiFi and use the Add Books option in iB4M on the MBA, then select the books from ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Books ?

Hi,

You can re download past purchases for free on the newer Mac.

Follow the instructions here > Download your past purchases

No need to transfer your books.

Just make sure your are using the same Apple ID on the newer Mac as the older one.

No, I mean ALL books not just those from the iBook Store. PDFs, ePubs from other than Apple.
