Sure. If you type in plain text and do nothing with it the site will render it at 22px in the current design.

For contrast here are some specific sizes.

    8 point

    10 point

    12 point

    14 point

    18 point

22px is equivalent to 16.5 point.

Thank you. I guess the default 10 in the editor refers to the reply text box. It's tiny.

I think the actual default used to be 12. That label will be a misnomer.

Thank you. For comparison I'm trying out a 18.

    Hi Meg,

You hit on several of my initial disappointments with this revision.

Not bolding threads that have unread replies is a big pain.

Not being able to tell who authored a post without scrolling to the end strongly affects my ability to respond in a thread. I want to know who is talking.

I hate the banner sliding down over the text I am trying to read. It is hugh, intrusive and only useful if I have forgotten what thread I just started reading. Wasted motion every time it needs to be dismissed. The reply button seems redundant.

I understand that Apple want to make things easier for people searching for answers. I wish they would work to make it easier for those of us wanting to supply those answers.

Oh and after you reply you are dumped back at the opening page for the question and have to hit "all replies" to return to the thread.

This looks like it was designed by the IRS, works just as simply as well.

    Aloha to you Bob,

I did a little HTML back in the day, so I'm kind of obsessive about links, having them where they're needed, and linking to the right places. They really affect the useability of the whole site.

I was wondering why some users complain about the text being tiny, while the rest think it's huge. Is this because the size is specified in pixels instead of points? Is the rest of the layout defined in px also? That could make it difficult to adapt to different screens. This post is formatted in 12 pt, so let's see...

Finally, I've noticed that the search works differently. I think it used to search only the current section. Now it appears to search globally, and a simple search may offer "60 communities" as well as multiple discussions. I think this breadth may discourage new visitors, rather than helping them. It doesn't bother me because I always open the "show all results" in a new tab, then adjust the settings to filter out old stuff.

Aha! That's what I expected. The text is smaller in 12 pt, but the line spacing is still the same, because it's defined in px. I still don't get why the line spacing needs to be anything but single spaced. Works for me ...

    Hello Diana,

What you wrote came out fine for me, sizewise, at least on my old iMac with Snow.   It's the faintness which I find a nuisance.   I have to stare hard to determine what they want.   I don't know if it is the same for you but look above my post under last saved.   The words recover and delete are barely visible ... and further up, the date and 'in response to Csound' and others further up is barely decipherable.   I think we will have to hammer this home to them, though my guess is, Bob is already in the process.

in response to almost everybody ...

    agree, agree, agree

also, with these page lenghts and the "next" button taking you to the end of the next page rather than the top, I would welcome some (back to) "top" and "bottom" buttons

btw there seems to be a "I have this question too" button at the end of the Announcement, what happens if we all click on that, I wonder ...

edit: ooh goodie I just earned a "discover" badge with this comment ... what is this? Blue Peter?

I agree on the faint text. It looks like the "control" info is presented in gray, contrasting with black for the user-entered text. However, gray on white is pretty faint. Like that disclaimer text at the bottom of cable TV ads.
