Officially Apple Mail does not support requesting or displaying 'read receipts'. Other email clients may do this but the person at the other end may not send the read receipt even if you use a client that can request it. I suspect Apple have not bothered to implement this both due to the fact it is not 100% effective and also as part of their philosophy of respecting users privacy.

Saying all this, I found a plugin for Apple Mail that might do this at least as long as the recipient allows it. See the plugin 'Mail Butler' here https://www.feingeist.io/mailbutler/ and tryout the Email Tracking feature.

Anyway thanks to all of you! Great to have help like this! I now live in the Italian Dolomites! Not a lot of Apple dealers here!

I just recently upgraded my Macbook pro mid 2010, 7.1 ... to 8 gig mem , El Capitain, and a new battery from a Mac sales re seller in Italy

called "Buy different" .. they were great and even gave me a discount of 20 Eu!! It arrived by courier in 24v hours!

All good!

Regards ... Andine.
