A new look and feel for Apple Support Communities

Apple Support Communities is launching some important changes today. These changes will improve how the community finds solutions and how you interact with the site. You may have noticed the beautifully redesigned pages across https://support.apple.com. If you haven’t already, be sure to browse around the support site to get a look at all the exciting new resources and designs. These new pages are just the beginning of our commitment to offering our users the absolute best resources for using our products.

Along with new designs come many useful improvements for Communities. While the Support changes are part of a larger apple.com initiative, your feedback on the Communities was also important to us. Because of this we took this opportunity to respond to your input and improve your experience.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new design and updates for Apple Support Communities.

Simplified community navigation

Our most popular products appear on our homepage, with other products and services appearing in search results. We’ve also introduced a new sitemap page so you can always find what you are looking for.

Featured Topics

The new Featured Topics section promotes community-generated content. We’ve hand-picked a few topics to get started, and we plan to highlight more in the future leveraging different criteria.

New product category page

We have a new product category page which provides an overview of what to expect in some of our top communities within a specific product category. Users will now have insight into what’s going on in each community, such as the latest discussions and most active members. You will also have the opportunity to search within that community and contact Support.

New Q&A pairing in threads

Our thread pages have received the most improvements. They have a new Q&A design that persistently shows the question and answers. Answers marked as Solved or Apple Recommended are promoted first, followed by those voted Helpful. The improved Q&A design will greatly benefit users seeking answers to their questions.

Better options to view thread metadata

Each community’s main page now shows some of the most important information front and center. Each listing now displays if the thread has any promoted replies, number of replies, latest reply by, and more. We’ve also introduced new filtering options so you can quickly find discussions that have been Solved or those that are still waiting for answers.

Last but not least

We’ve increased the default font size for questions and responses, while still allowing you to format responses to your liking.

In a rush? We’ve got you covered. We’ve updated our navigation for threads, including “first” and “last” buttons to quickly navigate to the page you want to see.

We’re confident that you’ll enjoy these updates. But if you want to see more, don't worry. This is just the beginning. We continue to invest in improving our site for both new and active members.
