Q: Delete old backup on iCLOUD

UNABLE TO DELETE / REMOVE OLD iPhone 6 Plus Backup (13Gb) from iCloud - response is "Unable to remove at this Time"

Have tried all possible permutations and combinations to Delete old iPhone 6S PLUS back-up which is blocking 13Gb memory in iCloud.

 

Power down, logout of iCloud etc. etc. and tried all the suggestions on the Community site but no success.

 

Appreciate any suggestions .  I traded in my 1 year old iPhone 6s PLUS and obtained a new 6S Plus on June 3rd 2016 . I have also deleted removed the old iphone in my Apple Devices . Many tks

    Did you try deleting it from your computer.

    There is the possibility that that backup is presently locked. This happens after a backup has been recently used to restore any contents. The backup is locked so it cannot be altered or deleted until a sufficient amount of time has passed for the backup to successfully restore. If this is not the case, and you have also attempted to delete the backup from alternate sources, then I would recommend to Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support. They may need to place your account into Troubleshooting Mode to allow an engineer to access and correct the behavior.

    AAlready done this and just checked on iTunes again and it shows only this current device as old iPhone 6 removed ? M tks

    Glad I could help! Another thing to note is that while restoring your 13 GB of data onto your present iPhone, you may notice your battery drain more rapidly. This is normal as more background activity is present as the iPhone is restoring all of your content during your regular day of use while you are connected to WiFi. It will normalize after the backup has been completely restored to the iPhone.

     

    PS-I wish they would solve that duplicate first letter problem when posting from a mobile browser. Happens to me all the time.
