Q: cannot set up exchange on iPhone 5 running 9.3.2

I am trying to set up our company e-mail (exchange) for a user on an iPhone 5 running 9.3.2

i can set the same email account up on 2 other iPhone's (a 6+ & a 5c) with no issue. however every time i attempt to set up on this one, i get "cannot verify server identity".

i have tried restarting the device, trying on mobile data instead of wifi & resetting the network settings, all to no avail.

Is anyone else having/had this issue or can advise on a fix?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.2

    Hi there, amcfarlanexp!

From your post, I'm understanding that you're having trouble getting an Exchange e-mail account set up on an iPhone 5. E-mail being a primary form of my own work communications daily, I know it's important to be able to set that up for the user, and I have some steps you can take a look at to help.

The linked article below will take you through some troubleshooting.

Get help with Mail on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    https://support.apple.com/HT201419

Make sure you go through each of the steps carefully, and don't forget to review the "If you still need more help" section, particularly under the "Contact your email provider or system administrator":

    • Contact your email provider or check their status webpage to see if they’re experiencing a service outage.
    • Ask your email provider or system administrator if you have any security features or restrictions, like two-step verification, turned on for your email account. You may need a special password or need to request authorization from your email provider to send and receive email on your device.
    • Check your email account settings with your email provider or system administrator to make sure that they're correct.

    Cheers!
