Q: Receiving some iMessages on rMBP only.

Yeah, I know, there have been issues with this in the past. I have searched the forums extensively.

At first there was only one or two people who only showed up on my rMBP Messages, and I shrugged it off.

Now it's getting worse, and I have about 6 people who I can only text me through Messages on my laptop. Happens from iPhones and others alike. Those Messages don't show up on my phone at all. This is bad because I often miss business texts since they were sent to my laptop and not phone.

I tried logging in and out of Messages, both on the laptop and then phone concurrently with no luck. Then I got fed up with it and reinstalled both OS X 10.11.5, and iOS 9.3.2. Still no good.

I have both iOS and OS X messages set to send and receive on my phone number and Apple ID, and to start new conversations from my phone number. Text message forwarding is enabled on my iPhone

Anyone have any suggestions? It's getting worse

So long as you are signed in with the exact same Apple ID on both your Mac and your iPhone, there is nothing that should only be going to your Mac that was addressed to your phone number. That is the proper way of it. Some things to check on would be that you check "You can be reached for messages at" section of iMessage in both devices. On Mac, Messages>Preferences>Accounts. On iPhone, Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. Make sure that all addresses are checked on both devices. If someone addressed their message to an address that is not set to receive on your iPhone, it will only go to your Mac if that is set to receive via that address listing.

I also assume you still have ownership of your phone number for making phone calls and text messages with your carrier, yes? So long as you do and what I mentioned above is all in place, I would reach out to Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support. The support is presently free, and if it has come this far, they will likely need to collect some capture data and escalate the logs to an engineer to review as to the cause of this issue.
