From what I can gather, your iPhone and iTunes aren’t syncing and you're getting an error when you try.
Now I don't see the error in the screen shot. Could you provide me with what the error is telling you when you try to sync?
Also, this article may help you out in getting your sync started: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

Jun 13, 2016 5:58 PM in response to obin12by turingtest2,The following steps should help, assuming all of the content you want is in your library.
(If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.)
- Backup device.
- Restore as a new device.
- Restore the backup you made earlier.
