Why won't Apple replace my Iphone 5 battery like it said it would on the itunes page.
My phone 5 battery will not hold a charge at all anymore. I basically have to leave it plugged in all the time and have been doing this for a while now. Anyway, I am leaving for Peru soon and got online to buy another battery and found that this apparently was a real issue when the iphone 5 first came out. (I'm not techie at all, and use the phone minimally). The iTunes store prompted me to put in my serial number and my phone was one that was affected by the battery issue. So I made an appointment for the genius bar to get another battery because I was prompted to do so. I took time off work to go to the apple store just for them to tell me that yes my battery is bad but they will not replace it because the phone is too old. Really????? Why did you waste my time is letting me make an appointment first of all. I mean I inputted my serial number for you to check if my phone was affected or not. Why not tell me at that time? Does the battery test the genius bar does tell you WHEN the battery went bad? I mean I have been dealing with this crap for a while now, but I guess that doesn't matter? I dealt with it and when I needed it replaced Apple first teased me by saying sure your phone was affected bring it in for us to fix for you, then when I get to the store tell me, OH we can't give you a new battery because your phone is too old. You are right Apple, it is time for me to upgrade for sure but after this it won't be with an apple phone. Geez... Thanks for leaving me high and dry with a crappy phone for my Peru trip.
