logic pro x grouping tracks issues

Hi There. can any one tell me, I've grouped several tracks together in logic pro X a combination of software instruments and audio. However in moving the volume fader of one track I expect all tracks in that group to move in correspondence, some tracks respond and some tracks do not. I have tried this with each individual track and again some tracks correspond with each other and some do not. Would anybody know as to the reason for this am i missing something which i don't think so because all tracks are linked or is this another bug in logic.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

What method of grouping are you using:

  • Channel Strip Groups
  • VCA Groups
  • Ad-hoc Groups

If you use Channel Strip Grouping, it should work on all Tracks with the exception of External MIDI Channel Strip, even if it displays the Group number

Hope that helps

Thank you very much for your reply; yes I am referring to channel strip groupings. whats happening is; i have five tracks 4 of them are software instrument tracks and one audio track with an apple loop on it, all as part of the same group. I can move any of the volume faders of the software instruments and all faders of the tracks ( (Channel strips) in that group will respond to the shift in volume and move correspondingly however the audio track in this case when i move it none of the other tracks respond to it. Further I added another audio track to the group, all the other tracks respond to the movement of this track fader, further I added another software instrument track to the group and when moving this fader no other fader moves however the trim parameter on all the track header in the group move. I 've been using Logic pro X for five weeks but this seems peculiar. Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Thank you

That definitely shouldn't happen.

If you have individual automation on those Tracks, then they would move individually , but that shouldn't affect the Fader movement when you are in Stop Mode.

Did you try to "Toggle Clutch Group" (shift+G)? Maybe something got stuck.

Hope that helps
