Formatting Question (Disk Utility)

Yesterday, I asked the Apple Community a question about formatting Micro SDXC cards. I was wondering which scheme would be the best option for using the SDXC card as a permanent storage drive in my Macbook Pro (10.11.5). I was told that Mac OS (journaled) and GUID Partition Map would be the best options for me.

But now I just realized there are 2 different ways to format the SDXC card when you are in Disk Utility. You can click on "Apple SD Card" or you can click on the "Untitled" partition (if that's what you call it) directly under that. If you choose to erase on the top drive ("Apple SD Card"), you also get the option to select your scheme. But if you choose to erase the "Untitled" partition, you are only offered a formatting option.

Which one do I format??? I attached the picture below to better depict my question.
