iPhone music transfer ios7-ios9

I am trying to transfer my music from an iphone ios7 to an iphone ios9. Both are configured using the same appleID and home sharing enabled. The issue appears to be on the ios9 iphone-when I toggled in music library and select artists>home sharing>ios7 device, I can see the songs but I cannot download\transfer. HELP!

I believe that the best solution for this is to use iTunes. If you have the songs you synced/purchased on your iPhone running iOS 7 in your iTunes library, then you can just connect the iPhone running iOS 9 to iTunes on your computer and sync it from there. If you don't have iTunes though, then you can go to the iTunes Store app on your iPhone running iOS9 and download all of your previously purchased songs. Songs that you did not buy on iTunes, however, will not be transferred when using the Purchased method.

Hi, thanks for your response! Most of the music was not purchased, that is why I am having such difficulty. I will proceed with your suggestion to sync the iOS7 device first, but I have one concern. I was worried about syncing the iOS9 device thereafter because I only want to update the music, not everything else. Is there a way that I can only sync the music?
