Can I change the region of my Airport Card (i.e. US Macbook, European Use)

I have my macbook which I bought in the US in June. I was aware that in the US the region for the airport card was set up so only channels 1-11 were available, but in europe 1-13 are available, Theres a network i have to get to every so often thats on channel 12, is there any way i can set it to the european mode or am i stuck in the 1-11 channel set ?

Macbook 1.83Ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.8), 512mb RAM, 60GB Hard disk, Airport Express, iMac 20" 2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo, iMac G3 600Mhz DV Graphite

Not likely,
If you bought your AirPort card in Japan and traveled to North America, you should not use your computer to create a network on channels 12 to 14, because your North American colleagues would not be able to see your network (cards purchased in North America only work on channels 1 to 11). Conversely, if you frequently travel to a region that allows more channels than your home region, you may want to consider purchasing an AirPort card from the region that allows more channels.

What you might be able to do is visit an Apple store and see if they can replace the Airport card that you have for a European one.
