redeem code for purchased OS X Lion - check

try to download from old iMac that I want to put Lion on - fail! No App Store. Can't get App Store, OS 10.4 too old. hmm That's why I purchased Lion.

try to download said purchased code from App Store on a friends Mac that is running El Cap... FAIL! Won't let me download b/c a download isn't a download on the App Store apparently. It thinks I want to install. Ooooy Vay!!!! Anyone? Please help.
