Unless it is a region thing, here are a few suggestions to try...

  1. Do you have restrictions set on your iPhone. While there isn't one, that I know of, to disable Maps, perhaps there is a crazy "other" setting that is preventing it from showing up.
  2. Did you "uninstall" Maps? Recent iOS versions allow you to delete the stock apps and perhaps Maps was accidentally deleted. You can "re-enable" it by downloading it from the App Store.
  3. Did you modify your CarPlay screen so that the Maps might be on another screen? Doesn't look like it from the posted screenshot but I thought I'd throw that out there. Does the Map icon show up when you look at SETTINGS > GENERAL > CARPLAY > <your car>
  4. Maybe try re-setting up CarPlay on your car. Delete the settings from your car and your iPhone and see if that helps.

I have the same issue with my new Jeep Compass. I can see Map icon on my phone's carplay window. But it disappears when i connect to the car. Everything that I could try was tried out. Android Auto works like a charm with maps. Could not even get any more applications added to carplay screen too 😟

Appreciate if anyone who was successful in getting rid of this issue here.

Mine is an Iphone6s with iOS 10.

Thanks in advance

Hi, SudeshBLR.

CarPlay is an awesome feature, and I'm excited to see that you're using it! I understand Maps is a handy app to have access to while in the car, so I definitely want to make sure we explore some options to help.

First, make sure you have everything set up as it should be. Instructions for setting up CarPlay can be found in the article linked below:

Some features of CarPlay may not be supported in your area, so check the resource below to ensure Maps can be used.

Actually, using Maps on iPhone is available to operate and use in Thailand. and we had tried that many times. Connecting iPhone with CarPlay head unit in vehicle also easy after follow the instructions as mentioned above. and we currently did it. So we can do all awesome features as mentioned. but, Maps icon is never shown up on screen.

we are more than make sure that using Maps application Thailand area is supported. we need Apple to advise us of why we cannot use Maps? if there is solutions, please recommend.
