Assign sustain pedal to only some sounds in a patch?

I'm a relative newbie to MainStage 3, and I've run across a problem I can't solve on numerous patches I'm programming.

I'd like to assign my sustain pedal to certain sounds in a patch but not others. (For example, I'd like it to sustain for the piano, pad and string sounds in a patch, but not for an arp sound in the same patch.) How would I go about accomplishing this? (Lots of searching thru forums/YouTube tutorials hasn't yet turned up the solution to this one.)

Thanks for any help you can give!

In Edit mode, click on the channel strip for the sound that you do not want to respond to the sustain pedal.

Then, in the Channel Strip Inspector (lower center of the screen) click on the MIDI Input tab.

On the left-hand side you'll see a list of check-boxes labeled "Filter." Select the "Sustain Pedal (64)" item in that list, and the synth assigned to that channel strip will no longer respond to the sustain pedal.

I use this feature a lot in my patches to control which synths respond to the various controllers. For example, I will often filter the "Expression (11)" controller so it doesn't affect piano sounds (since volume of that sound is controlled by velocity) but it does affect organ or horns or whatever.
