Q: If my email account is deactivated, do all existing messages in apple mail get deleted?

My work email account is connected to Apple Mail. Since, I will be leaving my job soon, I was wondering if the existing messages in Apple Mail will be deleted when my account is deactivated?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
