Q: Podcast app crashes when I open it

so I listen to podcast everyday over music and iv had no problems but now the app crashes and returns to my home screen when I open it. It started out as just pausing my podcast while I was listening to them but not it won't even allow me to keep the app opened, it will black screen then send me to home screen. I've reset my phone completely to new to see if it just needed refreshed and it's still happening any ideas?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

    Hi. Try to check Apps Update: Open App Store from your iPhone - Tap Updates - Check if the app needs update. After that restart your iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button to power it off and turn it on.

    Finally, close the app: Open Multitasking by double pressing the Home button > Swipe the non-response apps up to close it.

    IIt's the built in podcast app the phone comes with so iv never seen it in the app updates section. I wish it was still an optional app so I could delete and re install it like everything else.
