Q: How can I install my newly purchased apple usb superdrive on my 2006 IMac?
The internal DVD optical drive fried out so I went and bought an external Apple USB Superdive to replace it…I'm on disability and can't afford to have the internal one repaired…Anyways I hooked this up only to find that my IMac is not supplying any power to the new superdrive…So now I have a beautiful Apple paperweight(heh, heh)…I know there is a way to write a command in the terminal to over ride this and allow the new drive to work…I've read a lot of blogs between hear and there to know that it works…I just don't know how to do it because I'm not a genius when it comes to IMac…In fact I bought this used about a month ago and am still trying to get the hang of it…All I ever used was Windows and android and I'm pretty good at working my way around them…But there is just something enchanting with my IMac…I really like it…Just wish I had the knowledge to do more with it,but I'm learning…I really want to get this superdrive to work because I heard it's a wonderful product as all Apple products are…If anyone can help me I would appreciate it so much but remember I would need step by step details…Can you help? Please? Thanks and may God Bless You all…Gary
