Q: .Gif for a BluRay menu photo.

I am trying to use a .gif file to use as a menu photo for a project in FCPX. So that when the client pops in the BluRay, instead of a photo, its a motion menu. I loaded in the .gif  in the BluRay exporting settings, and in the preview, it plays flawlessly! However, when I burn the IMG file to the BluRay, the menu doesn't display the .gif properly. I was curious to know if this was possbile to do within FCPX.

Thanks!

If it's possible at all, you'd find guidance on a BD authoring site that includes BD specs and acceptable file formats for the picture elements. I doubt GIF is included. Motion menus are common for ye olde DVDs but GIFs are a completely different animal.
