Q: H264 with .MP4 extension.

I want to deliver footage taken from my camera to a person who has a PC. Is it guaranteed that his PC will read .MOV extensions ? If not, how do I package H264 with .MP4 extension (to make sure his PC can read it) ?Or is there another extension that is guaranteed to be read on PC ? I have compressor 4.2.2

Final Cut Pro X, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

NO cross platform guarantees but MP4s are your. Best bet. You don't even need Compreosr. Share > Master File. Choose H.264 for Codec a nd Computet corFormat. In Compressor, if you want. Add Setting Nd choose MPEG

    GOod luck.

If you have an H.264 movie file, try just changing the suffix from .mov to .mp4 and see what happens.  That works sometimes.  If the footage came off your camera, what camera, what format is the footage now?

If it is ProRes, his PC will only read it if he has installed QuickTime Player on it, which many Windows users don't bother with.

As previously state, nothing with video is guaranteed on any platform.
