Web Browser options for my MacBook Pro?

For web browsers on my MacBook Pro, currently I am using Safari, FireFox, and Chrome.

One of the reasons I ask this questions is that I am establishing my small online business at Shopify and Etsy. And try to find more secure way using web browsers on my MBP.

Can I use three different browsers(Safari, FireFox, and Chrome) on my MBP without problems?

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), iPhone 6s

Well sure you can, why not.

It is always advised to have more than one browser on your system—if one fails you need an alternative to reach out to the internet.

In my work flow I always have two browser open.

NO !,....

Multiple web browser can cause problems. Mainly the "Syncing" of bookmarks folders and files.

I have had problems with this feature. Which would cause my MBP to hang and stop working for long periods of time.

All of this Syncing and cross syncing of bookmarks, folders and files between different wen browsers appears to confuse the computer,

The solution was to go into the setting of each browser and turn off the Syncing features.

You also want to go into the iCloud settings and turn off syncing of bookmarks.

There is no reason you can't run more than one browser at a time. I regularly do it as I have one browser with some blocking software installed and one without for when I need to access certain sites.

For what it's worth, Chrome is a resource hog and not highly recommended on a Mac. But, I've used int in conjunction with Safari with no issues at all.

Websit developers use multiple browsers regularly to test their sites.

While you can surely use more than one browser on your Mac (and sometimes must since some websites are friendlier to some more than others [e.g., Safari works better here than Firefox]), if your concern is for browsing securely, Firefox has a wider range of extensions which can increase security (e.g., "NoScript") than the others. At the same time using browsers for special purposes allows you to delete all cookies and local files with one browser while leaving them alone with another browser.

For Firefox, you can open Tools>Add-ons>Get Add-ons and check out Adblock Plus, Better Privacy, Ghostery, NoScript, and RequestPolicy among others to see what they do.

For a browser with which you can delete everything associated with a website that gets stored on your computer, you can check out the Opera browser and choices in "Clear Browsing Data."

I'm a fan of Ghostery too, but of the old version (5.4.11). Among other things, the new version comes with all blocking off by default and trying to access and change the options has been a lot more difficult than it should be. When it was automatically upgraded and I ran into that, I was able to identify and locate the extension in Firefox/Profiles/the default profile/extensions and recover the older version using Time Machine, then turn Automatic Updates for it off. Nothing is ever simple.
